Kara grew up in upstate NY with a love of farming, which led her to pursue a degree in Environmental Studies and Ecological Agriculture from the University of Vermont. She focused on food sovereignty and equity and interned at farmers' markets and several local Vermont farms.

 

After college, Kara pursued a job in the local wine industry, where she learned about biodynamic and regenerative farming in the unlikely wine-growing climate of Vermont. After working with a hoop house project, she shifted gears back to her passion of vegetable farming and providing the community with local and sustainable food. 

 

Kara is the workhorse behind all the planning, planting and management of the vegetables and flowers at the farm. You can often find her out in the field alongside her favorite rooster.
